Lakshmanan is a 7 years old and studies in grade 2 at Isha Vidhya. His parents are both coolies (virtually bonded laborers) in a farm, and the combined monthly income of the family is Rs.3,500 (less than $ 80). His grandparents also live with his family, which is a further drain on the family resources.
Since there are no schools in the area where he lives, Lakshmanan travels 30 miles every day to attend Isha Vidhya. He is a diligent student, and is also very creative- he is very good at making things out of clay.
Your generous support, Sara, Teresa, Tom, Chris, George, Mark and Lisbet, Bill, Mary, Sarah, Anil, Adam and David, has enabled Lakshmanan to continue his studies. He can now continue shaping dreams the way he shapes clay.
