Green Chandar is interested in sports

Green Chandar studies in grade two in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father works as a laborer in a rice mill, and his mother is a housewife. The monthly family income is Rs 2,500 (approximately $ 55) which is barely sufficient to meet the needs of the family.

Normally, a boy like Green would be put to work as a child laborer, so he could supplement the family income. Luckily, Isha Vidhya managed to convince his family that educating their child would pay off in the long run. Green is a bright student, and is particularly fond of mathematics. He is also interested in sports, specially sprinting and running.
