Iswarya, is interested in sports

Seven year old Iswarya studies in grade 2 in the school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. Iswarya is a cheerful child who is interested in sports.

Her father is a salt salesman and her mother is a housewife. The family income is Rs 2000 ($ 45), which is barely sufficient to meet the needs of the family. They are able to get by because the family stays in a house belonging to Iswarya’s grandparents.

Normally, a girl from Iswarya’s background would not even be able to dream of getting an education, but your donations of a month of tuition each, Thomas, Adam, Banner, Howard, Mahendra, Elena and Shanen, Dennis (x2), James and Julie (x2), James and Gaurav, will ensure that her basic educational expenses are taken care of for an entire year. Thanks to your support, Iswarya and her family can dream of her getting a good education and moving out of poverty.

She comes from a family where a well balanced meal is a luxury, and the meal that she gets in school is the only nutritionally sound meal she has in the entire day. The school lunches gifted by you is the main incentive for her parents continuing to send her to school.
