Barath has an urge to learn

Barath studies in the fifth grade in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu, India. His father is currently a driver and his mother is a housewife. The family lives in a relative’s house while they try to earn enough income to return to their own house. Because Barath comes from a poverty-stricken family, he cannot afford to attend school.

Isha Vidhya is an organization that provides education for children like Barath. Isha believes that their students deserve the right to an education just as much as any other child. Isha provides Barath with uniforms, daily lunches, transportation, and a quality education.

Oftentimes Isha’s students will only eat lunch because their families cannot afford to fully support them. This lunch gives incentive for Barath to attend school regularly.
