Vaishnavi is a slow learner!

SYI-SANTHIYA-VIL197
Dear SeeYourImpact.org, Indu, Jyothi, Venkat, Rashmi, and P,

Six year old Vaishnavi studies in grade one in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. Vaishnavi is the oldest of three children. Her father is an unskilled laborer who works for daily wages and her mother is a home-maker. If he is lucky enough to find work every day, he earns about Rs.3000($ 67) per month, which is barely sufficient to meet the basic needs of the family. When he finds it difficult to get work, the family has to go hungry for days on end, or depend on others to help them survive.

Since Vaishnavi rarely has enough to eat, she finds it difficult to concentrate on her schoolwork. She is a very weak child, slow in learning and doing things. Your donations, Jyothi and Venkat (x3) will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a hot, nutritious meal to Vaishnavi every day, for an entire year. This will not only ensure that she doesn’t have to starve if her father doesn’t find work, it also ensures that her family sends her to school regularly.

Thank you, Rashmi and PV, for coming together to provide a year of transportation to Vaishnavi. She lives in a village far away from the school, and used to be dependent on her father or uncles to drop her off and pick her up. This often resulted in them losing out on their wages. Now, she can come to school on her own.

Thank you, Indu, for donating a set of two school uniforms to Vaishnavi. She loves her new uniform, and being able to wear them is an incentive for her to come to school.

Thank you for coming together to ensure that Vaishnavi gets a good education.
