Ashwathy is a very talented girl!

SYI-ASHWATHY-VIL116-15.04.2011
Dear Laurent, UBS, Kandace, Chris and Emily, The Butson, Lowry, Mark and Lynn, Steve, Chandra, Shari, Pramila, and Madhumita,

Thank you for coming together to support Ashwathy, and give her a great future.

Eight year old, Ashwathy is studying in grade three at the school run by Isha Vidhya. She lives with her parents and a younger brother, who will be starting school soon. The family lives in a small hut and their total monthly income is Rs. 2000 ($45). This meager sum does not suffice to meet the needs of this family of four members and also pay for the children’s education. The parents are struggling to make ends meet and provide two proper meals to their children.

Ashwathy is a very bright child and is good in both, studies and cultural activities. She loves dancing and dressing up well.  Given her talent, she can achieve great heights, if given the opportunity to complete her education.

Your generous donations, Laurent (x3), Kandace, Cris and Emily,  UBS (x3),  Tod and Jennie, Wat, Mark and Lynn and Steve, will ensure that Ashwathy gets to attend another year of school.

Thank you, Madhumita and Pramila, for coming together to provide an entire year of transportation to Ashwathy. She lives in a village quite far from where the school is located, and unless transportation is provided, she ends up having to miss school on days when people cannot take the time off to drop her off and pick her up. Your generosity ensures that  she can attend school regularly.

Thank you, Shari, for donating one full year of school meals to Ashwathy. This is often the only wholesome meal that she gets in the day, and there is no greater incentive than this to get her to come to school. The balanced diet also keeps her healthy, and ensures she is able to concentrate on her lessons in school.

Thank you, Chandra, for donating two sets of school uniforms to Ashwathy. She loves coming to school in her new uniform.

Thank you all for coming together in support of Ashwathy! It means a lot to Ashwathy and her family.
