Harikrishanan is fluent in English

vil10132
Dear P, cameron, Rick and Beth, Butson, James, David, Erik, Rao, Susan, and Gauri,

Thank you for enabling Harikrishnan to get a good education.

Harikrishanan studies in grade two in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife.

Children from Harikrishnan’s background are not encouraged to go to school. They are put to work as soon as they are able, and even if they are too young to work, they are kept at home to avoid unnecessary expenses. Your generosity, Gauri and PV will provide Harikrishnan with school supplies, and tuition fees for an entire year, and enable him to go to school at a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu.

The financial situation of the family is such that Harikrishanan barely gets to eat one proper meal in a day. The meals that he is fed are lacking in essential nutrients, because of which he is undernourished. Your donations,, of three months of school lunches each, will ensure that Harikrishanan is fed one wholesome meal a day in school everyday for an entire school year. Proper nutrition will also ensure that he is less susceptible to illnesses, and can concentrate better on his studies.

Harikrishanan has to travel a long distance to get to school (and back) from his village. On days when none of his family members is able to drop him off at school, he used to end up missing school. Your donation will ensure that he is able to get to school (and back) every day without having to be dependent on anybody.

Harikrishanan is fluent in English and bright in studies. Your support will go a long way in keeping Harikrishanan healthy and in ensuring that he gets a good education. Thank you for your generosity.

Jeevitha can have a bright future

vil10137
Dear Anita, Anu, Anna, Chandra, Rao, Janet, and Max,

Jeevitha studies in grade 2 in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. Her father is a farmer, earning Rs.2000 ($ 40) per month, which is barely sufficient to meet the needs of the three member family. Many a times, in cases of medical emergencies, their savings get depleted and the family often goes without proper food for days on end. The family lives in a small hut in a village. Jeevitha loves attending school and excels in singing and drawing.

Jeevitha’s family can barely afford one decent meal in a day, because of which she is severely undernourished. Your donation of a year of school lunches, Janet, will ensure that Jeevitha gets a healthy, well balanced school lunch and a glass of milk every day.  This will help her build up immunity and increase her attention span.

Public transportation is virtually non-existent in the area, making it almost impossible for Jeevitha’s parents to send her to school. Isha Vidhya, therefore, provides transportation to get her to school. Your donation, Max, will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a year of transportation for Jeevitha, thereby ensuring that she attends school everyday.

Thank you, Anita, Anu (x 5), Anna (x 5) and Chandra, for coming together to provide an entire year of tuition for Jeevitha. She is a bright student, and with your support, will do well in life.

Thank you, Rao, for donating two sets of school uniforms to Jeevitha. Living on the edge of poverty as they do, her family cannot afford new clothes for Jeevitha. The school uniforms are the only decent clothes that she has, and she will continue wearing them with pride for many months.

Thank you, Anita, Anu, Anna, Chandra, Rao, Janet, and Max, for ensuring that Jeevitha is able to attend school regularly and has a shot at a bright future.
