Vishwa gets to attend another year of school

Vishwa V
Dear Sunny, D'LocoKid, Venkat, Shweta, Rajini, Thomas Bobby, Ramkumar, Daniel, Phillip D., Sripriya, and SeeYourImpact.org,

Vishwa V

Thank you for coming together to support Vishwa for an entire year. He has just entered grade 2 at a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu.

Vishwa’s father, Veerappan, is very old and can no longer go out to work. His mother, Nagammal, is the only earning member in the family, and on days when she finds work, she earns about Rs. 100 ($ 2) a day. The family was affected by a recent cyclone (Cyclone Thane), and is struggling to recover from losing most of their material possessions. Despite leading a hand-to-mouth existence, Vishwa’s family recognize the value of a good education, and want to give it to their son. However, they will be able to do so only with your support.

Thank you, Venkat, for providing an entire year of nutritious school meals to Vishwa. His family lives much below the poverty line, and there is often no food in the house for several days. By providing him with a school lunch, you will make sure that Vishwa will get at least one good meal every day. Each of you is like a savior to little Vishwa.

Thank you, SeeYourImpact Giving and Sripriya, for coming together to give a set of two school uniforms to Vishwa. His family cannot afford new clothes, and he will wear his new clothes with pride.

Thank you, Daniel, Ramkumar and Phillip, for coming together to gift a year of transportation to Vishwa.

Thank you, Rajini, Thomas, D’LocoKid, Sunny, and Shweta, for coming together to gift an entire year of tuition to Vishwa.

Kuyili\’s determination shines through despite poverty and pain

S.KUILI
Dear SeeYourImpact.org, Shweta, Ajay, Krishnan, Swapna, Brojen, Puja, Abdul, Priya, Rajesh, Phoebe, and Adeline,

Thank you for coming together to support Kuyili for an entire year. She has just entered grade 2 at a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu.

Kuyili’s father, Sankar, works as a bonded laborer in Kerala, and earns approximately Rs. 150 ($ 3) a day, which is not enough to support the family. Her mother, Sudha, cannot go to work, because she has five children to look after. To make things even worse, Kuyili (along with her sister, Archana) was severely affected by fire accident, and she suffered burns on both hands and on her head. The family has to spend money on her medical treatment too. Despite not having any extra money, her parents are determined to give all their children a good education. Kuyili and her younger sister are enrolled in a school run by Isha Vidhya and her older siblings are in a government school.

Thank you, Alet and Claire, Rajesh, Phoebe and Adeline, for providing an entire year of nutritious school meals to Kuyili. Her family lives much below the poverty line, and there is often no food in the house for several days. By providing her with a school lunch, you will make sure that Kuyili will get at least one good meal every day. Each of you is like a savior to little Kuyili.

Thank you Puja and Abdul for coming together to provide two sets of school uniforms to Kuyili. Her parents cannot afford new clothes for her and her siblings, and it is only because of your generosity that she can come to school looking neat and tidy.

Thank you, Swapna, Brojen, Ajay, Krishnan and Shweta for coming together to provide an entire year of transportation to bring Kuyili to school. If not for your generosity, it would be impossible for her parents to leave her at school every day, and she would not be able to get the benefit of a good education.

Thank you, All, for gifting a bright future to Kuyili

Ashwathy is a very talented girl!

SYI-ASHWATHY-VIL116-15.04.2011
Dear Laurent, UBS, Kandace, Chris and Emily, The Butson, Lowry, Mark and Lynn, Steve, Chandra, Shari, Pramila, and Madhumita,

Thank you for coming together to support Ashwathy, and give her a great future.

Eight year old, Ashwathy is studying in grade three at the school run by Isha Vidhya. She lives with her parents and a younger brother, who will be starting school soon. The family lives in a small hut and their total monthly income is Rs. 2000 ($45). This meager sum does not suffice to meet the needs of this family of four members and also pay for the children’s education. The parents are struggling to make ends meet and provide two proper meals to their children.

Ashwathy is a very bright child and is good in both, studies and cultural activities. She loves dancing and dressing up well.  Given her talent, she can achieve great heights, if given the opportunity to complete her education.

Your generous donations, Laurent (x3), Kandace, Cris and Emily,  UBS (x3),  Tod and Jennie, Wat, Mark and Lynn and Steve, will ensure that Ashwathy gets to attend another year of school.

Thank you, Madhumita and Pramila, for coming together to provide an entire year of transportation to Ashwathy. She lives in a village quite far from where the school is located, and unless transportation is provided, she ends up having to miss school on days when people cannot take the time off to drop her off and pick her up. Your generosity ensures that  she can attend school regularly.

Thank you, Shari, for donating one full year of school meals to Ashwathy. This is often the only wholesome meal that she gets in the day, and there is no greater incentive than this to get her to come to school. The balanced diet also keeps her healthy, and ensures she is able to concentrate on her lessons in school.

Thank you, Chandra, for donating two sets of school uniforms to Ashwathy. She loves coming to school in her new uniform.

Thank you all for coming together in support of Ashwathy! It means a lot to Ashwathy and her family.

Devanathan A
Dear Kandaswamy,

Thank you for supporting Devanathan’s education and school meals for an entire year.

Devanathan has just been admitted in kindergarten at a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father, Ammavasai, is completely blind, and cannot go out to work. His mother, Latha, is a daily laborer and it is her earnings that support the entire family. Unfortunately, she is frequently ill, and the family often has to go without food for days on end when she is not able to work. Devanathan is a very bright child, and his teachers are confident that he will do well, if he is given a chance.

Devanathan’s entire education, including tuition, school supplies, and transportation will be taken care of by your gift. He will also receive two sets of school uniforms, which will ensure that he doesn’t look any different from the other children in his class.

vil10142
Dear Mark and Lynn, Phillip, David, Kandace, Luke and Ani, Venkat, and SeeYourImpact.org,

Thank you for coming together to support Purushothaman’s education.

Purushothaman, is a student of grade two in the school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father has his own vegetable shop and his mother is a housewife. His father earns about $ 50 per month, which is barely enough to meet the needs of the family of four (he has a sister). As a result of poverty, and general ignorance, Purushothaman is undernourished. This makes him prone to illnesses and his attention span is very low.

Your donation, Phillip, David, Kandace and Luke and Ani, will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a well balanced lunch for Purushothaman every day for an entire year. The lunch will be nutritious, and might well be the only proper meal that he has in the day.

Your donation, Mark and Lynn, will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a set of two school uniforms to Purushothaman.

Your donation, Venkat, will enable Isha  Vidhya to provide an entire year of transportation to Purushothaman. Since he will no longer be dependent on his parents to bring him to school, his attendance will improve.

Purushothaman’s hand writing is very good and he is interested in sports. Thank you for ensuring that he continues attending school so he can hope for a better future than what his parents have known.

Vaishnavi is a slow learner!

SYI-SANTHIYA-VIL197
Dear SeeYourImpact.org, Indu, Jyothi, Venkat, Rashmi, and P,

Six year old Vaishnavi studies in grade one in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. Vaishnavi is the oldest of three children. Her father is an unskilled laborer who works for daily wages and her mother is a home-maker. If he is lucky enough to find work every day, he earns about Rs.3000($ 67) per month, which is barely sufficient to meet the basic needs of the family. When he finds it difficult to get work, the family has to go hungry for days on end, or depend on others to help them survive.

Since Vaishnavi rarely has enough to eat, she finds it difficult to concentrate on her schoolwork. She is a very weak child, slow in learning and doing things. Your donations, Jyothi and Venkat (x3) will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a hot, nutritious meal to Vaishnavi every day, for an entire year. This will not only ensure that she doesn’t have to starve if her father doesn’t find work, it also ensures that her family sends her to school regularly.

Thank you, Rashmi and PV, for coming together to provide a year of transportation to Vaishnavi. She lives in a village far away from the school, and used to be dependent on her father or uncles to drop her off and pick her up. This often resulted in them losing out on their wages. Now, she can come to school on her own.

Thank you, Indu, for donating a set of two school uniforms to Vaishnavi. She loves her new uniform, and being able to wear them is an incentive for her to come to school.

Thank you for coming together to ensure that Vaishnavi gets a good education.

Little Sathish loves drawing and art

vil10130
Dear SeeYourImpact.org, Suresh, Ritesh, Peggy, Thomas, Kelly, and Ted and Pam,

Sathish studies in grade two in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father is a laborer and his mother is a housewife. He has two siblings.Santhosh loves drawing and art.

The financial situation of the family is such that Sathish barely gets to eat one proper meal in a day. The meals that he is fed are lacking in essential nutrients, because of which he is undernourished. Your donations,Ritesh, of a year of school lunches, will ensure that Sathish is fed one wholesome meal a day in school everyday for an entire school year. Proper nutrition will also ensure that he is less susceptible to illnesses, and can concentrate better on his studies.

Sathish does not live close to the school, and is forced to be absent on days when there is nobody to bring him to school. Thank you, Peggy, Thomas, Kelly and Ted and Pam for coming together to provide an entire year of transportation to bring Sathish to school and take him back home. Now, his attendance will be much better, and he will be able to learn more in school.

Thank you, Suresh, for donating a set of two school uniforms to Sathish. He comes from a family that struggles to make both ends meet, and his school uniform is literally the only “good” clothes that he has. Thank you, for helping Sathish get a good education.

Little Aesop loves drawing!

Vil10115
Dear Indu, glen, Venkat, Stefanie, Anand, Ramesh, SeeYourImpact.org, and P,

Aesop,  studies in grade three in a school run by Isha Vidhya in Tamil Nadu. His father is an LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) agent and his mother is a housewife.  His father barely earns Rs. 4,000 ($89) per month, which is barely sufficient to meet the needs of the six member family. Aesop has three more brothers of school-going age. Many a times, in cases of medical emergencies, their savings get depleted and the family often goes without proper food for days on end.

Aesop, consequently, is highly anemic, and the hunger makes it difficult for him to concentrate on his work. Your generous donation, Glen, will enable Isha Vidhya to provide a hot, nutritious meal to Aesop every day, for an entire year. This will not only ensure that the boy doesn’t have to starve, it also ensures that his family sends him to school regularly.

Aesop lives in a village which is some distance away from the school, and though his father is willing to drop him off and pick him up, the time spent in doing so resulted in lost wages for the family. There would also be days when Aesop was forced to stay away from school because his father was too busy. Thanks to your generosity, Venkat, Aesop will be able to attend school without any trouble.

Thank you, PV, Anand, Stefanie and Ramesh, for coming together to provide an entire year of tuition and study materials to Aesop. He can now script his one fairy tale!

Aesop comes from a family where new clothes are a rarity. He loves the two uniforms that have been given to him because of your generous donation, Indu, and he promises to keep them neat and clean. Thank you.

Thank you for coming together to ensure that Aesop gets a good education. You have helped him script his own fairy tale.
